Technology
To make your general or cosmetic dentistry appointment easy, Dr. Saby uses a computer controlled system for delivering dental anesthesia at his Red Deer office. This has replaced the traditional dental syringe in Dr. Saby's dental practice. Once the area that needs to be anesthetized is pre-numbed with topical anesthetic, we use this pen-shaped wand to administer the local anesthetic. The precise flow of anesthetic solution and the increased placement control makes the anesthetic much more comfortable.
Dr. Saby uses the technology to help him perform general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry procedures at his Red Deer office. Electric handpieces have replaced the old air turbines helping to reduce the noise of the drill. For smaller cavities, Dr. Saby utilizes micro air abrasion to prepare the tooth, rather than a drill.
Diagnosis of cavities is now easier and more accurate with the KaVo DIAGNOdent, a laser diagnostic tool that digitally lets us know where the cavities are located.
Dr. Saby uses high quality digital photography at his cosmetic dentistry practice to help his Red Deer and Alberta patients see where changes can be made to their smile. He also uses a "trial smile" to let you see how your new smile can look. A trial smile is an in the mouth mock up of your new smile that give you a preview of what is possible. Dr. Brian Saby
Dr. Brian Saby was born in Camrose, Alberta in 1957 and raised in Red Deer, Alberta. Dr. Saby graduated from the University of Alberta in 1979 with a B.S. in Medical Science. Dr. Saby received his D.D.S. from the University of Alberta Faculty of Dentistry in 1981, at the age of 23. Following one year in Golden, B.C. Dr. Saby moved his general and cosmetic dentistry practice back to his hometown of Red Deer, where he has been practicing ever since.
Dr. Brian Saby has continued to upgrade his skills with continuing restorative and cosmetic dentistry education courses, and memberships in various professional dental organizations. Dr. Brian Saby practices general dentistry with a focus on comprehensive restorative dentistry and appearance related dentistry.
Dr. Brian Saby has lectured throughout North America on subjects relating to restorative dentistry, dentures, dental implants, and cosmetic dentistry. His Red Deer, Alberta office strives to be equipped with the latest dental technology, and he keeps current with dental trends through research and membership in several restorative and cosmetic dentistry organizations. Dr. Saby also helps keep his patients aware of new procedures with a state of the art electronic presentation running continually in the reception area and treatment rooms. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Saby has authored over 100 newspaper articles geared towards the general public, and published numerous articles for professional dentistry journals.
His experience and knowledge have also led to requests to serve as a guest lecturer and consultant for Blatchford Seminars, a prominent U.S. based cosmetic dentistry consulting firm.
